Yes. All students have to waive every academic year if they choose to opt out of the Vanderbilt policy. Waivers are granted only if students have comparable insurance coverage and waive by the August 1 deadline.

If I waive the insurance in the fall, do I have to waive it in the spring?

No. Once you waive in the fall, the waiver is good for the academic year.

If I waived the Gallagher Koster Insurance at the beginning of the coverage period but discover I am no longer enrolled in my private policy, what steps do I take to enroll in the Gallagher Koster Insurance plan?

You will need to submit a petition to add form to the Office of Student Accounts. You must include a letter from your previous carrier confirming loss of coverage. Submit both documents to Student Accounts via fax at 615-343-8511 or mail to Office of Student Accounts, Vanderbilt University, 110 21st Ave South, Room 100, Nashville, TN 37203.
